I just had a post promoting the newsletter, but I just got a rad idea: at the end of February, I will choose at random one person subscribed to the newsletter to receive in the mail a copy of Hero of the Grey Area by ME, SGX. Since we're just starting out with the newsletter, your chances are pretty good!
Get all the new tracks and updates from Protagonist every Monday in your email inbox! Sign up for the Protagonist email newsletter!
Just got in a ton more Hero of the Grey Area albums! This print is in digipak style packaging and has slightly revised art; the main difference being the overall color change. New price as well! Now $10.99! buy a copy now!

Epic melodic trance with a piano lead and growling, pumping bassline. This song, or a version of it will be included in the Xbox Live Arcade Indie Game I am working on with a small team. The illustration in the tag is from our artist, Alayna Lemmer.
What's up, folks? I just wanted to write a quick post letting those who use Twitter to follow people that Protagonist and most of the artists here do the twitter thing and you should follow us! Follow @sgxmusic for official updates on both updates here at Protagonist and my(sgx) music. @HyBound, @audixmusic, and @zirconst are all self-explanatory! Get on the Twitter bandwagon!
Now you can grab free ringtones from Protagonist artists. These are short 30-second clips of songs that you can load onto your cellphone and set to be your ringtone. When your phone rings and your friends ask, "Where did you get those glorious melodies?!!" tell them about protagonistrecords.net! We've just got SGX and Audix ringtones at the moment, but we should be adding more soon. Check it out in the new ringtones section.
It's been a while since we've updated, and I'm sorry about that. My goal with this webspace has been to update frequently with news and have more free audio for download. The pace will be picking back up soon. We were supposed to have an album release by Destructo, but that has fallen through. Audix should have a new track for release in the near future, and Siamey tells me that he is hard at work on a new album.
I have been talking with some folks about working with them on a really cool project which I'll give more details about once it finally gets rolling and I know what I can talk about. Also, I am working on putting together materials for SGXRMX3 - the third SGX remix album. Check out SGXRMX2. Watch for it! This year I am planning on donating profits from the remix project to some sort of music education program. If you make music, I hope you'll stay tuned to this site or sgxmusic.com and consider participating!
This is my remix of that iconic song from the movie "Requiem for a Dream." You've probably heard it in some movie trailers too, such as the Lord of the Rings Two Towers trailer.
This mix is part drum and bass and part big beat, with orchestral elements similar to the original, and a nasty, very prominent bass. Enjoy!
Make sure you check back here on Friday for a special Halloween treat! I'll be releasing my new remix of "Lux Aeterna" from the movie Requiem for a Dream. It's gonna rock so don't miss it! If you like kickass beats, strings, angry bass, high energy, or music, you'll dig it.
This is just a quick post to let folks know about some awesome happenings with Protag.
I (SGX) am working on a pretty awesome track I am excited about. It is a remix of "Lux Aeterna" from the movie Requiem for a Dream. You've probably heard it in several movie trailers, including a version in the Lord of the Rings Two Towers trailer. Its a sort of breaks/drum n bass/big beat fast-paced mix with a face-melting harsh bass line and breaks section plus orchestral elements as per my norm. It's probably got some of my most harsh/badass elements this side of "Intense Color." It will be done before October is over and I'll have it here for download!
I should have a new track off of Destructo's upcoming album here for download within a few days! Watch for it. It will be rad.
Starting Sunday, there will be a temporary delay on any physical items bought from the store until next Monday the 20th. I'm off on a trip to Vegas for work. All download items will of course be available because the system is automated. You can go ahead and order a physical item and get your download instantly, but just be prepared for a delay on shipping. Thanks for your patience!
Destructo's rendition of SGX's "i.transmit.this" planned to be included with i.transmit.this EP along with the other remixes done by other artists, but he wasn't able to finish in time. Here it is, better late than never, for free download.
The track begins with an atmospheric piano section then evolves into a light jazzy motif with some improv electric guitar. Tasty!
